Montego's New Look
In order to keep Montego’s Hip Strip hip, it needs a new look. This new look is aimed at distinguishing this strip from other beach side tourist attractions.

According to radiojamaica.com, Glouster Avenue, Harbour Street and the Old Fort Street craft markets in Montego Bay, Jamaica, has been awarded a $95 million facelift. The contract was signed by Tourism Minister, Ed Bartlett. The primary goal is to improve the tourism infrastructure as part of the overall development of a sustainable strategy to market this particular area.

Part of this plan for streamlined marketability is to create design criteria for establishments from Dead End Beach to Pier One, with the objective of creating a distinctive look. A look which will attract more tourism and leave an impression much like South Beach’s art deco district does for Miami.

Although no set start dates have been announced, Mr. Bartlett anticipated the completion of both projects in 17 months from the start date.
